Brian Honeycutt
AMFT, EMDR
Strong as we may be, we all need someone to help support us at times on the journey of life.
Therapy can be a helpful place to explore and share our deepest challenges, joys, and all the complexities of life in a safe and caring environment.
My approach is one that is client-centered, meaning that I believe that you ultimately possess the inner knowing to best guide your own life. My goal is to work alongside you to help support you in achieving your personal goals, whether that’s improving relationships, processing an important life decision or event, exploring your spirituality or personal/professional identity, inner healing, or whatever else is most important to you.
I believe in using whatever form of therapy is best suited to the needs and personality of my client. This may include EMDR, CBT, attachment-focused therapy, parts work, expressive arts therapy such as drawing, painting, or music, and sand tray/play therapy for our younger folks. Teaching and building communication skills is also an area of focus for me, and something I would be happy to work with you on as an individual, family, or couple.
After earning my master’s degree in integral counseling psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies, I have since gone on to work with individuals and families experiencing a wide range of issues.
I also have a long history of working with kids and teens in various capacities, stretching back more than 10 years. I really enjoy working with youth and their parents and find great satisfaction in helping young folks feel more heard, seen, and cared for.
If you are someone who is interested in astrology, I would love to work with you in that realm as a part of our coaching services. I have experience conducting professional readings, lessons, and classes (including with kids), as well as being in charge of the Coniunctio astrology group at the California Institute of Integral Studies. I believe astrology can be very useful (and fun!) tool for better understanding ourselves and the events and themes in our lives.
In my personal life, I am someone who is often found appreciating time in nature, meditating, playing games, and exploring my creative side through music and writing.
I would love to speak with you further about how I may be of assistance. Please feel free to reach out for a free consultation where we can further discuss your goals and any questions or concerns you may have.
