Marriage can be difficult. Trying to fit two different personalities together with different life experiences and definitions of what things mean can cause problems in the long term with misunderstandings and resentments growing. It can lead to questioning if this relationship is the right one for you.
There are often many questions and concerns in taking that big step.
You may be avoiding it because you don’t want to hurt others you love such as children, you’re not sure how to work out the finances, or you wonder if there is something you can do to save your marriage and avoid divorce. Your counselor can help you explore these questions and others that you might have so you can get to your own answers and/or clear out the fears that are keeping you from the answers you seek.
We believe strongly that if your marriage is in trouble, you should try Marriage Counseling first because if you don’t fix the problem in this marriage or relationship, it is likely to follow you to the next.
Often times, problems in marriage are from unresolved “baggage”.
This baggage can make you and your partner reactive and defensive to the actions of each other. Once you clear out your own baggage you will have a much clearer picture of the current state of your marriage.
This will, in turn, make it much easier to come to a clear decision on whether you want a divorce or the marriage is worth saving. Also once your own baggage is cleared out you very likely may decide things aren’t so bad after all.
Our philosophy is that ANY relationship or marriage CAN BE SAVED with Marriage Counseling, no matter what state the marriage is currently in, especially if you are both willing to work on it. Lastly, even if it does turn out to be the right decision to divorce, after having gone through the program at Love Therapy Center, you will be able to do so with a clean conscience.
“It is worth it to try and work it out in this relationship… if you don’t the problems are likely to follow you to the next relationship”
