The more you think a thought, the easier it becomes to think it. The latest studies in neuroplasticity show that thoughts create electrical signals which when fired off repeatedly wears a neural pathway. The more the electrical signal travels the same path (i.e. the more you think that thought), much like a well used path through the woods, the deeper the pathway gets. That makes it much easier for that thought to occur the next time.
The implications of this for our purposes of counseling, coaching and therapy are pretty cool. This means that even if you have had a difficult time doing the same thing over and can’t seem to break out of a bad habit, addiction or unconscious thought belief or behavior, with intention and persistence, you CAN by pass it. Override it and create a new pathway
